Well here we have it, the first press shot of what the Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO Home server will really look like, and we say this looks beautiful.
The preliminary spec looks like this:
- Space for 4 internal hard drives
- 4 USB 2.0 ports
- 2 eSATA ports
- Can be positioned either horizontal or vertical
- Low power consumption
- Always available by the Fujitsu Siemens Computers Advanced Power Management
- Quiet operation
This prototype has been made available for the IFA show in Berlin, Germany where the pricing and availability details will be revealed.

Looks a little top-heavy to me. For us Californians with earthquakes, it looks a little vulnerable. And if you’ve got kids at home….

Can be positioned either horizontal or vertical
I think setting it up horizontally would make it reasonably earthquake-proof from toppling over.
