A great video has been posted about Windows Home Server. Based around Dave who owns a successful plumbing and heating company and Heather, who is a ballet instructor and the love of Dave’s life; who live in their home with Devo the dog and Saison the cat. The video looks at Dave’s business without and with a Windows Home Server and Heather’s laptop, again without and with.

It’s really small and cute says Heather, talking about the MediaSmart Server. This video case study is defiantly worth a watch, after which you’ll agree with the narrator let Windows Home Server bring peace into your home.

We discussed yesterday about the new media refresh of Windows Home Server being available from September and since then the Windows Home Server team have published a list of part numbers (SKU’s) for the different language versions of WHS which will be available within the system builder channel.

Remember there is no need to wait until the new media refresh is released. If you buy a copy today the PP1 update is free and will be applied via a Windows Update.

The HP MediaSmart Servers are both being shown as discontinued on the US HP website. Is this a mistake or are new models on their way, since the MediaSmart is almost a year old now. hpshopping.com are showing both models in stock and available for shipping and we personally think that it is an error but await conformation from HP.

UPDATE: HP came back to us and as we originally expected the link for the HP MediaSmart being discontinued is an error. They are alive and well and available now for purchase from the Home and Home Office Store on hp.com and from the usual retail outlets and partners.
