Windows Home Server World Cup – April 2008

With Windows Home Server now being sold in 47 different countries around the world, the Windows Home Server World Cup results for April look very interesting. Norway remains in 1st position, with New Zealand less than 100 units away from first place, assuming Norway stands still.

From the WHS Team Blog the top 8 countries are:

  1. Norway
  2. New Zealand
  3. United States
  4. Germany
  5. United Kingdom
  6. Denmark
  7. Australia
  8. Switzerland

The standings are computed by taking Windows Home Server sales divided by the number of households with a broadband connection in each country. Updated standings will be published next month.

Interesting, because the biggest countries in the world both China and India isn’t on this list. Japan is another huge market untouched by WHS while the small country Norway tops the U.S. in terms of sales divided by the number of households with a broadband connection.

So why isn’t WHS sales better in the U.S.? Being how WHS’s home is in Redmond, Washington of the good old USA?
