Is there an interface (aside from using remote desktop) to search a WHS box? If not, why do you need search on it?
Windows Search can use the catalog on a remote server (WHS in this case) to provide local results to what is on the server. It also is useful for Remote Access (through a web browser) of the content in your WHS shares; it drives the search in the browser window to find anything you have on your shares.
Here’s another problem, WHS supports 10 PC clients, but the Remote Desktop feature doesn’t! It only allows just 2 connections at once. So stand in line and wait your turn just to use WHS…
Another wow experience designed by Microsoft.
