More WHS Build Sheet's
Loads of components are listed on the Hardware section of the WHS Forums for home built Windows Home Server’s and David McCabe of the Windows Home Server Podcast has put together his own build list for a home built Home Server. At just under $600 (£300) and using some pretty nice components, you can view his build sheet here.

As an alternative approach why not buy a recently end of life product such as the HP ML110 G4 that has been discounted and use this as the base. With a few extras you get a well made box without the hassle of building from scratch all for under £250
e.g. a quick search and you find the following for approx £100 inc VAT.
Main Features:
HP ProLiant ML110 (G4) Server
Intel Xeon Dual Core ( 3040) 1.86 GHz Processor
Intel 3000 Chipset
512 MB (1 x 512 MB) Standard Memory
160 GB (7200rpm) SATA 1 inch Hard Drive
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
For another £50 you can up the memory and add a reasonable 500GB disk, plus £75 for WHS. Grand total under £250.
Anyway just a thought (it worked for me!!)
Any problems with WHS on the ML110 G4?
