The Death and Rebirth of a Windows Home Server
Blogger Christopher Price writes about the death of his Celeron D Home Server after the PSU literally exploded in front of his eyes. Chris explains how he was able to recover his data even though the motherboard also died at the same time.

I guess I dont understand why a reinstall of the O/S was necessary. I have moved my hard drives from one motherboard to another, and it ran just fine after installing the new chipset and hardware drivers.
