Gadget blog ubergizmo are giving away a 1.5TB EX495 MediaSmart Server from HP worth $699.

Think “outside the US”. Since you probably get as many readers from outside of the USA as from within, it would be nice if you added (US only) whenever these offers come around.
My wife is disabled so I would use it to provide streaming music and video into our bedroom for her. It would also allow her to watch the recoeded TV from my media center computer by archiving it to the home server. We already share documents but the server would centralize everything. I would also run an add-in called lightsout so we would be as green as posssible with leaving the server on only as much as needed.
