So, here are some of new features od PD11 (i’ve selected some of those which i found on PerfectDisk website):
– Advanced SMARTPlacementâ„¢ optimization (Pro and Server versions only)
– New easy-to-use engine customization lets files, applications and directory data be placed according to your unique requirements or preferences for improved system performance and faster file access.
– New Exclusive BlockViewer
You can now right click on the Drive Map to view the contents of a block, visually identify and eliminate fragmentation with ease.
– Faster analyze
You can analyze a drive up to several hundred percent faster depending on your drive, number of files and file sizes.
– Enhanced large drive support
New algorithms ensure faster defrags for even the largest drives; and as always — no extra cost, no matter how large the drive.
-Enhanced StealthPatrol automatic background defrag
Optimizes drives faster and uses fewer resources than other defragmenters.
– Enhanced VSS (Volume Shadow Copy) support
Support VSS threshold configuration lets you set a unique threshold for VSS data
– Enhanced user interface
Improved graphics and layout make PerfectDisk easier to use than ever before.
I think the enhanced support for large drives and SSD to be noteworthy. Thanks Phil.
Two of the most important new features in PD11 I found on the website were Windows 7 compatibility/certification from MS and a 30% performance improvement to the PD11 engine (the website didn’t say how this was gained).
Faster Engine and Cleaner User Interface.
It’s got an 11 in the name. This is a 10% improvement over the old, outdated ’10’ in the previous name.
While there are many, I’ll go with enhanced StealthPatrol. It already works great in the current version, but improved performance is always welcome.
New and improved Space Reports and Enhanced large drive support
I just want to set it and forget it. But I have a bunch of 2TB drives, so that is a nice addition.
I would like the new Enhanced VSS (Volume Shadow Copy) support
The large drive support looks like nice feature for a Home Server. Would be an nice addition to my homemade WHS.
Two things that got my attention right away:
New Exclusive BlockViewer
Enhanced Solid State Drive (SSD) support
Those are pretty important features!
😉
I like the StealthPatrol automatic background defragmentation and look forward to the new enhancements to StealthPatrol in PerfectDisk 11. With WHS the most important thing is that I can set it up and then forget about it — and I mean TRULY forget about it. With PerfectDisk my disks remain fast and efficient, but more importantly, I can forget that PerfectDisk is there because it uses fewer resources than other defragmenters and only does its job when the system is not otherwise being used. Perfect!
Okay, it seems easy enough to copy and paste:
What’s New in PD11:
Enhanced StealthPatrol automatic background defrag
Optimizes drives faster and uses fewer resources than other defragmenters.
BlockViewer, to see what files reside in a block. Nice. Norton used to have it back in the DOS time.
WHS when used to its otptimum performance involves daily activity which causes fragmentation of the drive(s). So in order to keep WHS at its peak performance you must defragment.
PerfectDisk is an invaluable tool to perform this task.
Enhanced large drive support
New algorithms ensure faster defrags for even the largest drives; and as always — no extra cost, no matter how large the drive.
A good feature for a home server 🙂
Enhanced Stealth Patrol sounds great. I prefer my defrag tools to just work without me having to worry about it.
I really like the enhanced SSD support. I’m looking at moving to it for my gigabit lan so I can run multiple HD video streams. I’m concerned about performance and perfect disk 11 is the perfect partner software with WHS software. Best thing since sliced bread.
Faster is always better, so that’s a big plus.
The Enhanced StealthPatrol plus optimizing speed are features That jumped out to me
New feature of PerfectDisk 11 that I’m interested in is Remote Free Space Management.
An IT administrator like me, can easily obtain detailed storage information on workstations and servers throughout the enterprise.
The Stealth Patrol looks like a must have feature.
Faster analyze will be a great feature for large hard drives with hundreds of thousands of files on them. SSD support is also a fantastic new feature!
