It’s day 3 of our mega PerfectDisk 11 WHS Bundle giveaway and for a chance of winning one of today’s two copies we want to ask you a couple of questions.

They’re the originals from my MSS EX475.
Been reliable for over two years, now.
(and a 1.5TB USB external, not added)
Add-in #1 is mControl – home automation is nice
After that, I’d say Squeezebox Server – for my wife’s music
Then, P80 and Advanced Admin Console are nice, closely followed by Disk Management
Thanks!

Hi,
My WHS is home brew. I have space for 14 Hard disks (by incorporating 2@ 5 bay Icy dock backplanes), but currently have just 10. Most are Samsung/Seagate 1.5Tb, although there are 2 Samsung 1Tb HDDs. Main use (apart from daily backup of all PCs in house) is media server for Home Theatre PC in lounge
Add-ins installed are Disk Management, Lights Out and WHS Tools. I recently used WHS BDBB to copy the Backup Database over to this recently built replacement WHS.
I have 14 drives, ranging from 500GB to 2TB in size, for 12.5 TB total. The drives are either Samsungs or Western Digitals.
I have three essential add-ins at the moment: Disk Management, MyMovies Collection Management for WHS, and KeepVault Backup.
I want to keep my drives clean and fast running. PerfectDisk is a supeerb tool for that purpose.
I currently have three 1TB drives in my WHS. I have designs on a reconfiguration and expansion, but that probably won’t happen untill Vail drops.
As for add-ins:
Disk Management
MyMovies
KeepVault
GridJunction
I have 12 drives in My WHS right now, all WD Green Powers:
1 500 GIG for the os base drive
2 2 TB Drives
7 1 TB drives
For a total of 10.46 TB

Good Morning Everyone,
I have two (2) WHS units. The first one is a HP ex485 with four (4) Seagate 1.5 TB drives. Presently, I am waiting to receive a copy of the latest 3.0 software from HP (which has been delayed in shipping). BTW, HP’s handling of the software upgrade delivery has been deplorable.
The second WHS is a custom built unit with eleven (11) Western Digital 2.0 TB drives (WD20EADS) for storage, plus two(2) Western Digital 150 GB VelociRaptor drives (WD1500HLFS) in a RAID 1 array for mirrored system drives. The custom build has an overall storage capacity of 20.15 TB, of which 12.37 is still waiting for me to accumulate more stuff at the time I’m writing this comment. The custom built unit utilizes a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard with several PCIe add-in SATA II controllers (with identical Silicon Image chipsets) for the extra hard drives, with a ThermalTake ToughPower 850 watt PSU, in an Antec tower case.
Some of my favorite add-ins are: Disk Management (v.1.1.2.1999); Avast v4.8.257; and WHS File Manager, v1.1.1.0. There are several other add-ins that I have reviewed, but have not yet decided to install.
Obviously, with the number of hard disks in this machines, a RELIABLE and BUG-FREE defrag add-in, such as the new PerfectDisk V Bundle, would seem to be of some particular benefit in keeping these storage systems operating in good fashion. I would like to give that new PerfectDisk v11 software a try on these units to see how it works.
