Seagate has the First 3.5in 1TB Single platter Hard Drive

Seagate are claiming to have the first 3.5in 1TB single platter hard drives.

This technology will first appear in Seagate’s GoFlex Desk external drives over the next few weeks with their Barracuda range of desktop hard drives following with 3TBs of storage on 3 disk platters as well as 2TB, 1.5TB and 1TB models.

Seagate claims an areal density of 625 Gigabits per square inch, the industry’s highest – So far!
