Add-In: My Movies for Windows Home Server 2.00 Pre Release 5
My Movies for Windows Media Center and it’s associated My Movies Collection Management service have both been updated to version 4.
With My Movies you can manage your movie collection and browse and watch by genre and rating and with the WHS add-in you can automatically copy and index your movies or CDs onto Home Server or even index your existing collection with meta-data.
For WHS v1 users you will need to use the released version 1.6.1.3 or 1.6.1.5 (Pre Release) of My Movies for Windows Home Server, whilst WHS2011 users can use version 2.00 Pre Release 5 which was released today.
More details are available from here.

Erm, actually, Philip, you don’t need to use the 1.6.1.5 (Pre-release) version of My Movies for Windows Home Server. The released version (1.6.1.3) works fine with My Movies version 4.00 clients. It’s what I’m currently using.
There are, however, two limitations that apply to both 1.6.1.3 and 1.6.1.5: neither will make backups of the TV Series data in the MyMovies database on the WHS, and neither will monitor TV Series folders to add new TV Series data automatically.
The first limitation will be addressed in the next version of My Movies for Windows Home Server, while both will be addressed in the first released version of My Movies for Windows Home Server 2011.
oops.. thanks for clarifying Geoff, iv corrected the post.
Over at the MyMovies WHS2011 forums, I read that there will no longer be any upgrades to the WHS v1 MyMovies addin. There will be support for bug fixes and such, but no future development. Bummer.
John, there will be one last upgrade for the WHS v1 MyMovies addin – and that is the ability to backup the TV Series data in the database. But beyond that, I agree, no more upgrades in functionality, only bugfixes.
