Why does PerfectDisk 2008 get more coverage than Windows Home Server KB 946676 data corruption?

Is there nothing else to inform us about or provide a time frame for when a resolution will be given?

How about throwing us a bone for goodness sake!

    2. Andrew says:

Or how about posting on the Microsoft WHS forums where people who can tell you anything might actually read your post, rather than cluttering up unrelated posts with unrelated comments?

    3. Jerryz says:

Funny, my build of PD (39) tells me that it’s the latest when I try to update. Doesn’t seem to find build 43??? Did this on both the WHS and client. Has build 43 really been posted?

    4. Jerryz says:

Oops. Just read the last line of Phil’s note that the build has been pulled. Sorry.

Doug said “Interesting, Roxio PerfectDisk 2008 for WHS continues to be improved, and as we can all see from their openness about the many bugs, they still had demonstrated the ability to fix them.”

While I do commend them on being out front with their problems, IMHO, this list would seem to be one that should be coming out of a pre-beta or beta version of a free-ware type of product…

Hasn’t this company and product line been around for a long time? If that is the case, then I would be quite concerned that they are still dealing with such issues…

    6. Roxio says:

Your forgetting that WHS had more than 3000+ bugs, so going by your thinking, that would certainly qualify WHS as beta quality. Not to mention WHS still has the serious data corruption flaw which is based upon it’s core DE technology!

Is it any wonder why WHS developers are working on a second version of WHS, which translates into the reason why no FIX and NO time frame was ever given to provide a resolution for this fatal flaw!

    7. DaHoServer says:

      Roxio,

Thanks for your quick response to this issue. I also would love to get your response to my question I left in your add-in forum about the VSS shadow defrag issue some days ago.

I fully agree that WHS is at best beta level software. Having such serious problems, as the data corruption bug, is completely unacceptable to anybody. They know better and shame on them.

But, that being said, I also find such things as “2. Added ability to work in lower screen resolutions, such as 800×600 or 1024×768. ” as also unacceptable in a production product…

I guess I am just use to a higher software development/testing standard for production products.
