Add-In: WHS Disk Management 1.0.7.2
Add-In WHS Disk Management has been updated to version 1.0.7.2 which includes the following:
- Changed: You can now copy/paste a single line from Disk Details window
- Fixed: Resolved erroneous white border around main window form elements after closing Settings
- Fixed: Rebuilt MSI package using latest WiX/Votive to prevent Vista from marking the installer as invalid
The add-in allows you to identify which disk you are working with within the Windows Home Server Console and shows SMART status and disk temperature.

So let me get this straight, Microsoft FIRST creates an application called Drive Extender that pools all your hard drives into one, and now this add-in allows you to identify which disk you are working with, right?
So Microsoft told everyone how great it is to have all our disk drives labeled as one and yet now we see how at least some WHS users are wanting to see their pools of data as separated disk drives.
I never cared for the drive pooling in WHS, not because of the data corruption flaw, but for all the additional hassles of having to sort out where your data resides.
WHS Drive Pooling = easier for everyday Joe Bloe; Joe needs more disk space in his home server? He buys one, stuffs it in, clicks a button in the console and voila! He’s done.
WHS Disk Management = detailed disk info for more technical users who are curious. It doesn’t really do much than provide a fancy display and detailed drive information; it doesn’t change drive pooling, which still works exactly the same for Tom Tech as it does for Joe Bloe.
What are you guys gonna do with yourselves when the fix is released to customers?
