I installed PP3 yesterday and I can’t find this file.

  2. WHSUser says:

I also installed PP3 on my HP Media Smart Server and the xml file isn’t there.

If you run the URL as instructed I believe this file is generated on request.
    It worked fine for me.

The file is there. I was able to view it using the provide URL. However, I can’t view it via remote access so http://servername.homeserver.com:55000/health/health.xml doesn’t seem to work.

  5. Stefan says:

It works, of course only in the local network.

Not sure this is such a great idea from a security standpoint as it exposes intranet knowledge not otherwise available without authentication…

  7. Dick W says:

Ahh–no port forwarding for this port by default. Maybe not such a bad thing after all…

  8. Simon Smith says:

There are know (see MS Connect) issues with the generation of this file. Not everyone will be able to find the file. My system has a problem with the service that generates this file causing a ‘class not found’ error every minute. This was reported during the beta phase and by a number of people since thr RTM.

It looks like this is used by the Media Center Console View add-in, since this is exactly the information the console view shows, tab by tab (storage, shares, backup, etc).
