More M2 fixes as they are being reported.
Build 1836 includes the following changes:
- You shouldn’t be able to perform repair tasks on disks that are not in the pool.
- After trying multiple notification techniques (WMI, Powershell, Direct WHS), scrapped existing notification system and rewrote it from scratch.
All notification are now in real-time with no interaction from the clients.
This fixes the client computer monitoring error.
It can take up to 6 hrs to replicate the new settings to the client computers. - Do not notify about incomplete files while a disk is being removed.
- Individual drive free space was actually the capacity.

Product Information
The WHS Migration Assistant (WHS2WHS) is designed to help primarily with the planning of the data move from Windows Home Server to Windows Home Server 2011. There are two versions of WHS2WHS: the Basic version and the Pro version. The Pro version, in addition to the planning functions, has functions for partially automating the actual data movements and other functions for saving, restoring and printing multiple plans.

Problems Installing WHS 2011 Connector Software?
Microsoft have released a Find My Server Wizard tool which helps you find your WHS 2011 server on the network. Ideal if you are having problems finding your server using http://<ServerName>/connect , enabling you to install the connector software:
“If you type http://<ServerName>/connect in the address bar of your web browser (where <ServerName> is the name of your server) and the server is not found, use this tool to help you find the server. When you download and run the tool, it locates the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) beacon on the server, and then opens the server Connect site.”
As well as supporting WHS 2011, the tool also supports Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials and Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials.

Installing Drivers on the Intel Media Series Motherboard
The Intel Media Series motherboards which include Intel NICs are ideal for a Windows Home Server 2011 build but installing drivers can be a problem with these boards.
Luckily for Intel Media Series owners, Andrew Van Til has written up the details on how to get these drivers installed especially for the the network interface controller as this can be a problem to install on this series of motherboard.
