Australians think that the Acer easyStore H340 is not the most energy-efficient server, but well specified and comparatively affordable.

Next DVBLink Version to Allow TV Streaming

DVPLogic are in the process of making a new version of the DVBLink Server Network Pack which will enable you to stream your TV channels over the internet to web browsers and potentially, mobile phones.

At the present time there is no news if this will support adaptive streaming to the likes of the iPad or iPhone or if the server will be re-encoding content. But this is great news for those of you wanting to watch your TV whilst away from home.

HP Data Vault and the Dark Side!

Vail Available in German and Japanese

The German and Japanese language versions of Windows Home Server codename "Vail" are now available for download from "Microsoft Connect" (Registration Required)

Add-In: Recorded TV Manager 3.9.2

The Recorded TV Manager add-in for Windows Home Server has been updated to build 3.9.2.

This latest build is a maintenance update which fixes some minor problems and further improves error handling for more stability. It also has some necessary adjustments to better coexist with WHS PP3 and provides for full support of WTV files.

The developer Rick Drasch has also released the Recorded TV Manager MetaData Service, which supports WTV files in WHS (Windows Server 2003).  See the Build 3.9.2 Release Notes for an explanation of the changes regarding WTV files.

The 3.9.2 upgrade is free for registered users, whilst the new MetaData Service is optional and costs an additional $2.99.

Resetting the Dashboard Columns to Default in Vail
