WordPress Blog Hosting on WHS

Would you like to install WordPress on to Windows Home Server?

WordPress is a blogging script which enables you to have your own blog which would normally be hosted by a web space provider, but some are hosting their WordPress blog on their Windows Home Server machine.

If you would like to learn how to accomplish this, then the digitalmediaphile blog has the details for you.

Securing WHS and the Network

Website Home Server Land have a great series to securing your Windows Home Server and it’s network.

In part 1 of this series we are shown how to develop a security plan and what you should know about risk management. UPS and surge protection are also discussed.

You can read it here.

Add-In: WHS File Manager 1.0.0.3

Version 1.0.0.3 of WHS File Manager is now available which now supports drag-n-drop and rename.

WHS File Manager is a simple dual-pane file manager for the WHS management console. It allows you to safely copy, move and delete files on your home server. It will only show your shared folders and it will use UNC for file copying. This means it will be slower than copying to/from local disks using remote desktop, but it’s also a lot safer.

Use command buttons in the middle to copy, move or delete files. Or you can drag and drop files and folders from one side to the other.
